Yesterday we participated in a really cool event as part of the Bethesda Literary Festival. It was a poetry reading put on by the Lit Kicks literary community at the Gallery Neptune in downtown Bethesda, MD. The theme of the show at the gallery was Curious George and the icons of our youth. I thought that was going to be a tough one for John to pull off but he composed a hilarious poem combining The Apprentice with kid favorites Tarzan, Jane and (Oma)Cheetah among others.

I loved the collaborative spirit of the whole event. It was being video taped and even the camera man got a chance to do his poetry. The art displayed was diverse and infinitely creative and the atmosphere was truly supportive of the arts. We talked to the gallery owner Elyse Harrison quite a bit and hope to be involved in future happenings there.

We also got a chance to catch up with our friends from Poetic Inhalation, Andrew and Star. There is no substitute for hanging out with creative people, people who actually *do things* instead of buying things.
