AWP was great, lots of opportunities and lots of new people to meet. There are pictures up from the event here: http://www.rawdogscreaming.com/awp.html but I’m posting one here that isn’t on that page. Mostly I spent my time carting Ripley around the hotel while John manned the table. In order to keep Ripley from pulling the leaves off the plants I told him to pet the nice plant instead. Now he’s a bona-fied tree hugger!
Doing an academic conference is a bit different than the horror/fantasy ones we usually attend but not too much different. It was cool to cause a stir in a new scene though. So many people came up and commented on our name and our books. It was also great to meet Larry Fondation and Eckhard Gerdes, two of our authors that I hadn’t previously met.
