So things have calmed down since John’s MySpace account was hacked. Someone sent out a bogus message from his account saying that anyone who’d bought his books was a fool and he was retiring from writing. I don’t think anyone who actually knew John took it seriously but he has been trying to use MySpace to stir up general interest so many of the people that got the message were new acquintances.
I was not surprised at all to find that he got a lot more friend requests after he spent his morning going around and explaining what happened. In fact, I suspect there were a few sales of Sick and Last Burn in Hell because of the whole fiasco. I’m not sure if the hike in his stress level was worth a few sales though.
