Well, the postal rate increase is way more heinous than I thought. I was shocked to discover that the postal service has based the hike on a proposal by Time Warner which gives mega magazine publishers a big break while charging small publications 2 to 3 times more. This doesn’t affect book publishers as much it does magazine publishers because it involves the periodical rate.
However, this will definitely drive many small press publications out of business and they are the best market for reviews, especially since the larger papers have been cutting down on the number of reviews they run for some time.

I'm glad you sent a letter. I don't know if that will do anything but I think the small press deserves a fighting chance.
