This is the most complex vid so far. I’m not as happy with it as the on for Via Dolorosa (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBF5reOEBeA). Somehow the animation didn’t come out as smooth and the piece as a whole just didn’t come together the way I’d hoped. I think it’s easier to do dramatic vids than energetic ones with Flash. John did the music for this one though so that was cool.
I’m in search of more ways to get the vids out there. John suggested making a MySpace movie page. I guess I should do it but…MySpace and I just don’t get along. One thing I wonder about this approach is whether people will see it as entertaining or is it too much like a commercial and therefore annoying? Maybe I should try instead to make a mini-movie out of a scene from the book. The problem with that is I would have to do it more like a movie with actors I guess, which really isn’t possible.

I can't make any promises, but I usually can get access to digital film equipment and the Avid editing suite. If I can rustle up some folks I know, I might be able to help on that account. I wish I could be more definite, but the cameras and junk aren't mine. But, y'know, it might be something to keep in mind.

Well that would be...totally awesome. Although I could hardly expect anyone to go through all that effort unless it was their own book or something. We do often have interns though and sometimes they can get college credits for projects. I saw you attend Wright State? I don't know if they have any programs like that. I don't supposed you know D. Harlan Wilson do you? He's one of our authors and also a professor at Wright State Lake Campus or somesuch.
Anyway I'm glad you like the vids. If you feel like posting them on your own journal or spreading them around in some other fashion that would be excellent.

I'm familiar with Mr. Wilson's fiction, but I've not actually met him. The Lake Campus is about 45 minutes away from the campus proper. As for credits or other compensation, I wouldn't worry too much about all that. I love working on this kind of thing, it's alot of fun for me. Let me talk to some people about checking out equipment and I'll get back to you when I know something more.
