Lately I’ve been working on the press release for A Dirge for the Temporal. Press releases are a pain in the neck to write. Thank god Darren is coming to Horrorfind otherwise I would have absolutely nothing to put in the release since you’re only supposed to put ‘news’ not flowery descriptions of the book. It’s crazy how you’re supposed to have planned all kinds of promotional events before the manuscript is even completed. Release dates are always being pushed back because who can know what’s going to happen so far in advance? But then what about all the promotional events you already scheduled. It’s madness!

It’s not too often that you get a heads up before a review is posted but tonight at 11:59 pm Brian Hardin will be posting his review of Isabel Burning over at http://www.zombiemall.com/zblog. I’m pretty excited about this review because Brian seems to be having the same reaction I had when I read the manuscript;…
Dangerous Red and alternate subjects
ByshaunI can’t believe World Fantasy (and Halloween!) are right around the corner. I’m looking forward to an early Halloween party this weekend. It’s been a long time since John and I had costumes for Halloween. Plus I’m hoping to bake up a few spooky treats for the party. We’re also supposed to pick up a…
Small Press Spotlight: Rooster Republic Press

Mostly bizarro but we’ve also dabbled in poetry and horror. As long as it’s strange (and good) it has a home at Rooster. What inspired you to go into publishing? I…

Set up for Cursed is almost complete and the reviews keep coming in: "Shipp has truly come into his own voice in this most idiosyncratic of books. Despite his experimental style and unorthodox structures, Shipp still tears at the reader’s heartstrings as Nicky and his friends spiral deeper into the insane haze of the Curse."—The…

The votes are in! The readers have voted and picked the books that will go on to the final ballot. The vote was supposed to choose the top 4 books, however, we had a tie for fourth place which resulted in 5 books moving on to the final ballot. These books will be read and…
The Seton Hill Experience
ByshaunI've met them before, Seton Hill alum or students. They seem normal (well as normal as authors can be anyway) until you mention the Seton Hill Popular Writing program and they all break out into the same goofy grin. I've been hearing about Seton Hill since we first published Mike Arnzen in 2004. He's on…
