The InDesign class is going well but sitting and listening all day without email or lj makes me a little crazy.

I was thinking today about how the success of promo opportunities like the Horror of Writing workshop and the chats can’t just be measured by how many people showed up. The beauty of these events is that announcing them lets people know you exist or reminds them that you’re still around. This is a good strategy for authors as well as publishers. And never underestimate the value of the post-event promo. I always have fun posting the pics from our events and doing a little run down of what went on. Most people are curious about pics and will head over to your site for that when they wouldn’t go if you announced a new book release. Plus if people see that an event you were involved in was fun and successful they’ll pay more attention the next time you promo an event.
